The Youth Action Council of Arizona is a group created for youth with and without disabilities to pormote independencce and self determination. It is a voice that informs policy makers of the needs and wants of youth with disabilities across Arizona. All youth between the ages of 14 to 30 are welcome tobe part of YAC-AZ. All they need to have is a willingness to learn about the issues that affect youth with disabilities and a desire to become a leader within their community. YAC-AZ empowers youth by providing education on programs and resources for youth withinn their communities. YAC-AZ also promotes self-advocacy and self-determination through mentoring and workshops. Memebers meet once a month on the first Saturday of each month to explore disability related issues. Meetings are held at the Pyle Center, 655 e Southern, Tempe, AZ It is free to be a part of YA-AZ.
