Behavior or Sensory Problem?

Very important for parents to be sensitive to their kid's sensory issues.  Many "melt-downs" can be as a result of sensory issues- fourescent lighting, a busy store, food sensitivities, etc.

In regards to hidden medical problems, you need to rule out the following:

-Acid Reflux - this is very common, and not obvious

-Constipation

-Urinary Tract Infecions

-Yeast Infection (overgrowth in gut, not so obvious)

-Ear Infections

-Bad Tooth

-H Pilori virus (makes stomach problems/ulcers)

Keep in mind that in non-verbal kids, these problems can all look like behavior problems, but can be a direct result of pain and discomfort.
